Dear Families,
Pasco School has announced that it has been cleared to resume normal operations after earlier safety protocols were activated in response to a potential threat on campus. While the situation understandably caused concern among students, families, and staff, authorities confirmed that the call was a swatting incident, and the Pasco Sheriff’s Office determined that the threat was a hoax.
The school emphasized that it takes every possible threat seriously and acts out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety and well-being of all students and staff. This approach reflects a commitment to creating a secure learning environment while maintaining calm and thoughtful responses in uncertain situations.
To accommodate the return to regular activities, the school will operate on a modified schedule for lunches. Administrators and teachers are working closely to ensure that students can transition smoothly back into their routine while maintaining safety and order throughout the school day.
School leaders, Kelly McPherson and Angie Murphy, expressed their gratitude to the students, families, and staff for their patience and trust as the situation was investigated. They specifically thanked the Pasco Sheriff’s Office for their prompt and thorough response, acknowledging the officers’ dedication to prioritizing the investigation and ensuring the safety of everyone on campus.
In a statement, the school emphasized the importance of standing together as a community to maintain a safe and supportive environment for every student. Families are encouraged to continue supporting one another and engaging in conversations about safety, vigilance, and communication in schools.
Pasco School reassures the community that it remains committed to proactive safety measures, prioritizing both preparedness and care for its students. The swift resolution of this hoax threat reinforces the importance of coordinated responses between school administrators, law enforcement, and families, ensuring that Royal students can learn and thrive in a secure environment.
